Hot Springs Island - Session 6
The players finish exploring the Lapis Observatory and discover a few secrets of the island.

Participants
- Joe: Hagar (Wizard)
Jon: Gretta (Fighter)- Sam: Jacques (Thief)
- Ethan: Golman (Druid)
Brendan: Silvar (Ranger)
Plot Points
The Multiversal Garden
- The group finishes investigating the exotic bars and drug dens.
- Jacques peaks his head into the next portal and sees a Zen garden of impossible biomes. With no immediate dangers nearby, they advance though.
- From the platform they see a large elf statue, with gold hair, and arms stretched up towards the sky. Around them is a garden of salt vine, cinder coral, and forest of gold trees. Overlooking the platform is a large elder dryad that Golman identifies as currently sleeping.
- Additional discoveries: Fungal city vivarium, giant bronze acorn from Yggdrasil, birch barked trees with gold leaves, empty plant people pod's, salt vine, and cinder coral.
The Elder Dryad
The players prattling about what to do next and wake the elder dryad from her long slumber. She’s in a talkative mood after coughing away the ages she's been asleep; they find out the following:
- The elves that built this place were from all over the multiverse and were having serious fertility issues, which lead to the creation of Hot Springs City, a resort to fix the problem.
- She was a transplant from an Elfholm from another plane and specialized in relationships.
- A cataclysm befall the elves and she fell asleep with nobody to entertain or talk to for a long while.
- She’s looking to rejuvenate, and the players agree to plant her somewhere nice on the island, with a seaside view; lots of sun.
- Gives them the elvish password to the portal to the next floor up: Glory.
- The Elder Dryad then “dies” and grows a seed from one of her branches that Hagar almost fumbles before Jacques snatches it out of the air.
The Planetarium
On the top floor they find a functional planetarium full of illusion magic or technology that can chart the stars. It looks like the elves came from all over the Multiverse to this place, but the players cannot read Elvish and couldn’t glean much more.
Random Encounter: Zeb’s Magic Emporium
The players encounter a strange portal wizard that setup shop on the first floor of the Lapis Observatory. The players look over his wares and request a book on learning how to read elvish, which he notes down. The then sells them a puzzle box (5 coin), that when solved will open a portal back to his shop.
Rand’s Retreat
- Stopped by Harold’s Barber Shop to find Rand getting a shave.
- They followed up with Isla Whittle and gave her hope that the Magic Forge could be recovered, but it’s in the hands of an Ifrit named Svarku that “owns” the island.
- Opened a Line of Credit with Jeremy Rand (Martel), to stash the treasure they find and get fair trade for it. Weapons and gear are purchased, in the transaction.
Major Decisions & Actions
- They promised to plant Elda somewhere nice on the island, as it has good soil.
- They’re going to start heading towards the volcano itself and explore along the way.
- The game master believes that Jacques is going to make a stop back at the Fungal City Vivarium and recover some potent reagents.

- Knowledge of the Planetarium itself is worth a lot of coin to the right Wizards or Witches in Hexen Tor, a prestigious magic college of the Old World.
Character Development1
- The party (Jacques specifically) apologized to Harold the Barber for their rude behavior earlier and offered him coin as compensation, he offers a haircut and a shave because they overpaid for the offence (the gesture went over well with Harold).
- Isla Whittle is financially broke, having spent her last few florin's on this excursion, but can pay the players in lesser magic items and fetishes for their continued help.
Plot Threads
- Planting Elda somewhere nice on the island, someplace with a view of the ocean and the sun.
- Exploring Rest of Hex HS-15 to earn that extra XP point.
- Finding the Elvish Forge that Isla is wants to recover before Eunice and her party does.
- Learning to read elvish, or just getting an elf on your team...
- Svarku is hosting a New Moon Party, which looks to be a few nights away judging by the current moon phase.
Next Session
- Continue investigation of Hot Springs Island (this is always a good thing as it moves the plot an intrigue forward). If you don't know what to do, explore!
- You can earn 1 XP for each completed hex on the island.
