Hot Springs Island - Session 7
The adventurers uncover Svarku's office, an Ancient Hydra, and Yuan-Ti Temple. Svarku invites them to his New Moon Party. And they make a Lizard-man friend. With new artifacts and questions, they prepare for the volcanic gathering, seeking the Elvish Forge.

Key Plot Points
- The players set out from Rand’s Retreat and make their way back to the Lapis Observatory and free the small fungus people trapped in the vivarium. Jacques collects powerful reagents for his “profession”.
- They then investigate a puzzling obelisk made of volcanic rock, etched with fiery runes; Hagar quickly discovers it’s a teleportation stone and the group finds themselves inside the luxurious office of Svarku. Which they quickly try to plunder.
- The head of Svarku’s appears as a hologram or illusion above a pile of red glowing rocks and invites them to his New Moon Party, tomorrow night; Svarku has a problem to solve and he’s hoping they can help solve it. He might even have the Elvish Forge they’re looking for.
- They teleport back out (not even trying to plunder anything at this point) and continue to explore the island with what little daylight they have left.
Anchient Rust Hydra
20 foot tall Hydra on a 30 foot pillar of stone jutting out of the middle of an island within a small lake.
- They disturb a Lizard-man who was fishing beneath the lake, but Gretta intimidated all the fish away. The Lizard-man cannot speak their language, but watches them out of curiosity.
- They build a raft to the island and explore it, while the Lizard man pulls a boat out from a hidden location and follows.
- On the island they find a “snake language” scribed into the rock at the base, and a colorful rainbow pattern of flowers growing at the base.
- They climb the Hydra and find treasure within the eyes, the purpose of the hydra itself remains a mystery.
Ancient Temple
Within a small cave they discover a temple to an ancient druidic people of snakes, or Yuan-Ti.
- Imagery on the temple walls suggests they were a druidic or nature based culture.
- A colossal albino snake statue acts as a god of figure head as it dominates the temple itself.
- At the alter a small cube with elemental signs on each side is found. They later identify it as a key stone or a portal.
Random Encounter: Zip Bird
The players stumble into the territory of a strange bird that emits electoral sparks from it’s feathers; it attacks and they quickly put it down.
Lapis Observatory
They rest at the tower and head back to Rand’s Retreat in the morning.

Character Development Moments
- In an incredibly wise decision Jacques decided to "not" try to seal anything from Svarku's Office.
- Gretta helped Hagar climb up a rope he was having trouble with, but slipped and fell into the lake below Ancient Rust Hydra and almost drowned. Gretta believe’s Hagar needs to toughen up.
- The Lizard-man, did bother to pull Hagar and one of his companions out of the water and into his boat.

- Who was that Lizard-man that watched them and pulled them out of the water.
- What are these ancient Yuan-Ti monuments and temples that appear to be older than the elves the island and what purpose do they serve?
- There is a large Ancient Ziggurat in the distance that was left unexplored.
- Who was that painting of the water woman with the slave collar in Svarku's Office?
