Plot Points

Isla takes care of Jacques and Golman who got sick from the Sea Urchins eaten the previous day. While Hagar and Gretta head out to investigate that Ancient Ziggurat spied earlier while atop the Ancient Hydra Statue.

Ancient Ziggurat

Deep in the jungle, surrounded by a lost city overgrown with foliage they make their way to an Anchient Ziggurat.

  • The party spots an animal den nearby but don’t have solid clues to figure out what made the hole.
  • Hagar notes the city is old, older than the elves that built Hot Springs City.
  • More squiggly cuniform is noted on the walls, and statues of creatures native to Hot Springs Island.
  • Without Jacques, Hagar casts invisible on himself to scout ahead (smart), while Gretta trudges behind.
  • They arrive at the top of the ziggurat, inside they find a sky dome that shows the stars but it’s old worn by age, below a pool of mercury shows a night sky, and a ziggurat in pristine condition. Hagar’s wizard senses pick up the ancient cube they picked up earlier is reacting to the pool, it’s a portal!

Sanctuary

Floating among the astral sea an archipelago of bridge-connected islands hold identical ziggurats. The central island is home to a bustling city of Yuan-Ti and other astral travelers.

  • They’re greeted by Xerxes a Yuan-Ti snake person, wearing a cult robe and acts as their warden while visiting Sanctuary.
  • Hagar and Gretta meet Xithicus the Arch Druid, a giant albino snake, and find out that Sanctuary brought measures of flora and fauna to the Lost Wyrld, where they’re from, and reveal the world is hollow.
  • On the way out, they try to buy healing potions but forgot their line of credit is with the Martel Company. They can always come back.
  • As they’re at the bridge home they’re approached by Penelope Jane and a group of rough looking women calling themselves the Acid Arrows. Penelope asks if they have astral ships in their world, and the players confess they don’t, but they do have access to portal magic back home and someone might be able to help. There’s a party to crash that an Ifrit is throwing, she shrugs seeing it as their best chance to escape being marooned on Sanctuary and follow them out.

Major Decisions and Actions

  • The group decided to end early as this was a big development and we don’t have too many sessions left to play. And the gamemaster might have broken the game by introducing Penelope Jane too early.
  • Jacques and Golman are going to meet up with Gretta next session as Hagar is heading back to Rand’s Retreat.

Character Development Moments

  • Hagar is trying to prove he’s tougher than Gretta thinks, but showed the him he’s clever by using invisibility.
  • More of a missed opportunity but our resident druid, Golman, missed out on meeting the ancient druid snake people race.

Unresolved Plot Threads

  • New Moon Party starts in around ~6 hours, but you can always show up fashionability late.

Next Session Setup

  • Players meet up and can investigate more of the island.
  • Forgot to do XP before we broke early for the evening.
