Plot Points

Helglund (Town Phase)

The players leave Deep Carbon after recovering a ton of loot from the vaults of the Black Throne left by the Tyrant Dark Elf (fully detailed below; sums left out because I cannot remember what we rolled for). Once they’re back to two players finally leveled up!

  • Bucklebrick tries to sell some knickknacks from the dungeon at the market but fails to haggle for decent prices, so he just resupplied, gets laid, and makes some promised brownies to one of Diedrich’s houseguards.
  • Belanor rests and tries to research some of the relics found in the dungeon. Most of what was found turned out to be too esoteric for him and his current accessible resources.
  • Diedrich re-equipped his companions. Tried his hand at religion again... And failed—again. He’s starting to think suffering is part of the bag. Asked (in the overbearing nobility way) for Fenn to join the group in an official capacity.

Town Event: Wind Nomads visit the town, they speak a different language and are allowed to set up outside the city. Their tents are bug-shell shaped.

Returning a Heart

Everyone gathers around the Salt Dyrads, and Uirst presents Naelea with her missing heart, she returns it to her chest, her soul is restored, and life comes back into her eyes. Fenn greatly approves of the gesture—that is until Bucklebrick tries to steal her tears of joy.

He’s going to have a conversation with that hobbit later.

Astrids Hearth

Mayla the Blue presses Bucklebrick into giving information on what’s beneath the Vestigård Stronghold; he draws her a map of what he remembers—or is willing to divulge.

Belanor and Mayla

Belanor travels out of town to a remote location and summons Mayla the Blue from one of her captured origami familiars (snatched out of a pile of burnt lay line maps); he calls her name, and she materializes.

  • Belanor presses her on her quest for power, she’s frank it is for power and power alone.
  • He’s unimpressed with her response and offers that a better view would be to share it with the world. She pauses at this and offers to visit the Magus in Lundon, John Dee, and ask his opinion on the matter.
  • She then turns to leave and realizes she has no idea where she is. Belanor offers her an arm to escort her back. She takes it.

Feast in Diedrich Honor: The Drune Attack

With the success of family members comes great feasts!

  • Family and friends have gathered in the great Vestigård Feast Hall to celebrate all of the wealth uncovered from the dungeons
  • Diedrich father is about to give a toast to his son’s success when an alarm bell inturrupt him. A guard is shouting towards them when he’s blasted by green hellfire from a cloaked figure that darts away. They’re under attack!

Character Development Moments

  • While researching Belanor finds a letter addressed to him, thanking him for watching over her son, and disclosing she is aware of his encounter with Death and that he may be cursed to a longer life than even an elf suspects. Death does not play around when you address him, his words are universal law.
